Corvid Technologies Announces Launch of Cybersecurity Division
Corvid Technologies, a technology-based engineering solutions provider known for work with the Department of Defense and automotive industries, bolstered its portfolio with the launch of its cybersecurity services division, Corvid Cyberdefense. The new division will serve organizations across the government and commercial sectors, offering advisory, technology, and managed cybersecurity solutions.
The expansion into cybersecurity was propelled with Corvid’s April 2019 acquisition of Rocus Networks, a leading cybersecurity service provider based in Davidson, NC. “As cyberattacks become more prevalent, the need for effective, affordable cybersecurity is increasing rapidly and we see a huge growth opportunity in the industry. The Rocus Networks team developed an integrated cybersecurity solution for businesses that is unmatched,” said David Robinson, Corvid Founder and President.
The company’s IT security offerings will feature Haven, an all-inclusive, cybersecurity-as-a-service solution for the business market that centers around a 24/7/365, U.S.-based security operations center (SOC). Haven integrates multiple cybersecurity controls and protections, data monitoring, and employee awareness training for a fully secure environment. For federal agencies and government contractors, Haven helps satisfy NIST 800-171 compliance, as required by the Department of Defense.
Corvid Cyberdefense centers around the Corvid Cyber Command Center, a next-generation SOC where information systems in the data center, network, endpoint, email, and cloud are monitored, assessed and defended against cyberattacks. “Our security enforcement points and threat research tools are integrated and use machine learning technologies. This allows us to better protect our clients by anticipating and automating efforts to prevent a successful attack rather than spending time reacting and remediating after an attacker is detected,” said John Britton, Director of Security Operations at Corvid Cyberdefense.
Corvid headquarters will move to a newly-constructed facility in Mooresville, NC, that includes a data center, mechanics lab, 24/7/365 SOC, and prototyping facilities. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on August 29th.
“We’re excited about the launch of Corvid Cyberdefense,” said Robinson. “We’ve been serving the defense industry since 2004 and it’s a natural move to defend organizations from cyberattacks.”
